"Don't Drink That!"

Hello, I'm B.R! Today in our Water class we were presented with an experiment: filtering water!! My group consisted of three people, including myself. Together we recorded, photographed, and documented what happened throughout the process.

                                                                       prefiltered water
                                                                     water being filtered
                                                                    3rd time filtered water
                                                             Device used to measure TDS

My group and I tested the chemicals in the water (TDS) in dirt-filled water.

To filter the water, we were given 3 cups. We used paper towel to prevent dirt from re-entering the water. The number read 904, completely dirty and inconsumable! Once all the "filtered" water was completely poured into the next cup we used a cool device to test the TDS levels. It then read 790, after testing the TDS levels again. We filtered the water twice more, the second time the TDS levels read 685, the third time it read 510. As you can probably tell, after the first filtering of the water there were no completely drastic changes in the number of chemicals in the water.

TDS is measured through PPM (Parts Per Million) so it is only appropriate to place our results on a number line, which is presented below. We changed our numbers into decimal form using logarithm.
